Kanye under fire

Usher is urging everyone to ignore what Kanye West said about Bush on the Telethon and come together to help Katrina victims. The YEAH! singer claims the rapper was wrong to point the finger of blame at President GEORGE W BUSH, who he accused of being a racist, during the telethon. And the R+B star, who will be among performers appearing on an MTV telethon tonight (10SEP05), states, "I wasn't mad at Kanye's statement - that's his opinion - but it's obviously not the opportunity or the time to poke fun or appoint blame."This is an opportunity where we all need to come together - musicians, actors, politicians - and help the (American) Gulf region." Usher, why don't you tell Kanye that? He can't seem to keep his mouth shut!

Kanye's case has shown what is one of the greatest things about America--freedom of speech. Whether I agree with him or think it was the proper time or place doesn't really matter to anyone but me. However I support his and everyone else's right to openly state their opinion, no matter how clever or how stupid it may be.
