Interesting--I highly suspect it is either a stone-reinforced terraced hill (a la Peru, Japan, Greece, China, and many other places) or a conical underground tomb, a la Mycenea.
Still exciting archeologically, but a whole lot less sexy.
If there really is a stone pyramid under there, that was built from scratch, many thousands of years before the Egyptian and Sumerians, I'll be shocked...but stranger things have been found.
