Ok,let me just say it and get it over with. Miers is Anti-Abortion. Ok? Got that? Is that really what choosing a SCOTUS judge is all about? Abortion? Intelligent Design? Sodomy? Gay marriage? Isn't that kind of sad? Just saying.

Sam, thje Democrats demand each Judge and Justice bow in fealty to Roe v Wade, so, in a way, it is about abotion, but not as I think you present it here. I doubt Harriet Miers or the new Chief are going to make overturning Roe v Wadw, which is bad law, by the way, into their great Crusade on the bench. Frankly, i don't see either of them leading a charge to do anything except return the Court to its original purpose, interpreting the law and issuing judgement based soley on the law, not making new law, not legislating from the bench.
While I would love to see Roe V Wade overturned because it isn't a constitutional right (if you think it is please show me where in the constitution it says that?) it was imposed upon the people without their consent (vote) and treated as an amendment. Realistically what is going to happen is that restrictions such as better information/education about what it really is, being shown the ultrasound to prove it isn't just a mass of cells. Show them the film "silent scream" to see how the baby fights for it's life things like that. I think we should pass the same law Russia passed in 2003, no abortion on demand after 12 weeks.
I've always stuck by Ronald Regan's words " Funny that the only people for abortion are already born?" No one has the right to end someone's else's life especailly if it is their own child.
anonymous what ur talking about is providing biased information. people know what goes on, trying to make them feel guilty while making a difficut decision only makes things worse. it many states women are forced to make multiple visits in order to be inundated with this info making it more costly and causing the woman to have to save up more money which inevidibly pushes the abortion into later stages of the pregnancy. If your a man then u have absolutly no right what so ever to dictate what i do with my body. lets all be realistic a fetus is simply a parasite living and feeding off the woman's system it can not survive without her and can cause the woman harm it is not alive and it can not live on its own. It is not a life yet. There can always be miscarriages which are far more common that deaths after birth and life. If the clump of cells regardless of how it looks can not live on its own it is not a life. The woman on the other hand has a life. She can live breath and survive on her own. Why should her life be destroyed because of a clump of cells that she does not desire to care for?
Speaking from an outsider the left is worried that they are going to have their own methods used against them.
The left appointed judges who they believed would interprete law following their ideological ideals. Now that they fear that all their hard work is going to be reversed they are calling foul.
From what I have read of Roberts he just wants to return the Court to its origin design not to promote one cause over another.

The truth is not "instillng guilt" it is the truth and that will never change no matter how much you want your ideology to be accepted, 4-D ultra sound doesn't lie! After approx 40 hours old you have a beating heart and have always been a separate person. You were born a vessle my dear, only sterilization/menopause will change that fact! So was I, it is biology and ideology never changes that. I have no problem with preventing it but terminating a life I do! Seems to me we are garanteed the "right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" in this country no where do I see abortion mentioned!PERIOD!
Did you know that the 1000X increase in breast cancer since abortion was legalized information is being subverted by the largest lobby in DC (planned parenthood). It's all about the money,honey! Amazing that people think it is a safe "procedure" ( such a nice word for dissection, don't you think?) considering PP is the largest unregulated medical facitity in the USA?!
