Saddam agreed to exile, Moussa said no?
Did anyone know of this? Doesn't that mean that the War could've been avoided if it wasn't for Moussa and the League meddeling? Oh God.

There was a rumor after the invasion that Saddam had secretly agreed to the exile offer but I can't find the story now. The thing to remember is that a secret agreement is secret for a reason. It allows you to back out and claim you never said any such thing. Clearly a stalling tactic, therefore. If Saddam truly accepted the exile offer, he had a state-run media operation with which to announce that fact and he never did. The president gave Saddam time to accept abdication just before the invasion, you'll remember, and Saddam hunkered down and took cover instead. Thanks for the great blog!
