Talk about Irony

A man gets fatally shot at the viewing of the new ultra-violent 50 cent movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin". Talk about the adverse effects of violence in movies. Sorry, I know it's insenstive, but, hehe.. The new 50 Cent movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" has been pulled from a theater where a man was fatally shot even though officials said Thursday they do not know whether the film was a factor in the slaying. Loews Corp. decided to stop showing the rapper's bullet-ridden bio while the investigation is going on, said John McCauley, the company's vice president of marketing. "We're unclear whether there is a direct connection," McCauley said. He said the company is doing all it can to make sure patrons are safe at the 22-screen multiplex in a popular entertainment-and-shopping complex just east of Pittsburgh. Shelton Flowers, 30, had just watched the rapper's movie Wednesday when he got into a confrontation with three men in the bathroom. A fight ensued and spilled out into the concessions area, where Flowers was shot, police said. I don't think the incident will discourage people from going to see the movie actually, which would be what would happen in any other case. I can just so see hiphop culture spinning this to the movie's advantage. "Man, this movie is so gangsta people got shot watching it man. That's ill, man. We gots to see this flick." No? Wanna bet?

Call me a prude but there is no way I'd let a teen see this and they are the largest group that supports the box office. I also don't think I'd want to see it in a major city either. I'm just wondering if this happens again if the person or family of the victim can point to the first shooting and hold the theater, movie studio, etc responsible and sue? Thoughts to ponder....

Bit of dark humour there. Chris Rock would have a field day with this material.

How can they pop a cap in brother's ass, in a cinema? Crazy shit.
