A "Peacefull" Rally!

The Bush Inaguration, as expected, had it's share of people who came to protest his policies and actions for the past 4 years. The Protesters included Women rights groups, ACLU members, Gay rights activists and of course Anti-war ptrotesters. I always thought that being Anti-war means that you are pro- peace, so in a way being in an anti-war rally meant you were in a peace rally. Since i am a foreigner and english isn't my first language, i figured that being a peace protester or a peace activist also meant that you protested peacefully. I am apparently wrong and misguided: Hundreds of people gathered at both ends of Meridian Hill Park in Northwest Washington for a peace rally sponsored by the D.C Antiwar Network. But there were interlopers: Thirteen members of ProtestWarrior, supporting the Bush administration and its policies in Iraq. When the Bush supporters arrived, about 20 black-clad, self-described anarchists emerged from the crowd, shouting profanity and epithets and demanding that they leave the peace rally. When the Bush supporters refused to leave, the anarchists tore the sign out of the Bush supporters' hands and stomped on them. When ProtestWarrior leader Gil Kobrin objected, several male anarchists knocked him to the ground, kicking him in the back and punching him. Other anarchists punched and shoved Kobrin's 12 colleagues. After D.C. Antiwar Network members broke up the fight, the Bush supporters heeded their order to leave the park. Kobrin then called D.C. police, who are now guarding them at the entrance of the park as they hold up their pro-war signs. "We're going to hang tight," Kobrin said. "We're expressing our freedom of speech just as they are expressing theirs." --Robert MacMillan So let me get this straight, the Pro-Peace people attacked the Pro-War people and kicked them out? Wow. I think it's safe to say that Irony is officially dead!

The "anti-war" crowd hasn't changed, nor have their "peaceful" tendancies since the halycon days of the Nam.The same bomb flinging bastards who'd kill their fellow citizens in the name of "Peace"(defined in Stalin's dictionary). They're not even good enough to be toilet paper for the stockade, really, let alone a voice for democracy.
