Neo-Nazi Israelis?

Okay, this would be funny if it wasn't disturbing and real. Apparently there is a surge of Anti-Semitisim rising in Israel amongst its recent Russian immigrants, who are joining Neo-Nazi groups. This may sound confusing since you would think that the russian immigrants who came to Israel and became israelis must be Jews in order to be neutralized, but the truth is that they lied just to escape the USSR. As early as November 1990, a Russian-language daily, Novosti Nedeli, published a letter written by residents of an absorption center in Herzliya, which stated: Ten males between the ages of eighteen and forty came to our center. They stated openly that they were not Jews and that they had bought birth certificates with Jewish surnames to enable them to flee the USSR. Our life in the absorption center has turned into absolute misery every since their arrival. The newcomers are constantly drunk; they brawl; they call us “zhids” openly and proclaim that they hate Israel and the Jewish people. The interesting thing that allowed this to happen is Israel's misguided immigration policies that wants nothing more but to get more jews to come over to keep up with the palestinian increasing headcount. One specific policy that is ripe for abuse is the"Grandfather" clause in the law of return: The idiotic "grandfather clause" of the Israeli Law of Return allows persons who only have one Jewish grandparent, and are thus only one-quarter Jewish, to receive asylum and citizenship in Israel. In addition, the relative ease with which fake birth certificates and passports can be obtained on the post-Soviet black market allows ever growing numbers of people who have nothing in common with Jews or Judaism to come to Israel. As a result, out of the nearly one million Russian-speaking immigrants in Israel, about 300,000 are not Jewish. And naturally, those 300,000 don't give a damn about judiasim or the safety of fellow israelis. In the years 2000-2003, at least 500 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded (with many more unrecorded) in which Russians were arrested for spraying anti-Jewish graffiti, desecrating synagogues and attacking Jews. Synagogues were defaced in Bnei Brak, an ultra-Orthodox town in central Israel, cemeteries were vandalized in another religious town, Ramat Beit Shemesh, and Jews were attacked all over the country (Netivot, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, northern Israel), some by openly neo-Nazi bandits. At a soccer match in Haifa in which Israel played the Russian Federation, drunk Russian youths shouted down the Israeli national anthem and yelled anti-Semitic slogans - an incident almost identical to the infamous anti-American debauchery of Mexican fans at a soccer game in Los Angeles a few years ago, except that it was "Hatikva" that was booed down instead of the "Star Spangled Banner". Now you would think that would be enough to get the israeli people in power alarmed enough to do something about it, like not allow anymore russian jews over unless they can really prove jewish ancestry or something. Right? Naaaaahhhh! Ariel Sharon and the rest of the Israeli leadership, along with an overwhelming majority of Israelis, do not see mass non-Jewish immigration as a problem. Recently, Sharon stated that he plans to bring one million Jews from the Russian Federation to Israel. The only question is where will Arik get so many Russian Jews, since the Jewish population of Russia is below 500,000. It is obvious that Sharon does not want to consider the tremendous threat that is being posed to the already fragile stability and ethnic character of the Jewish State. Sharon is hoping to use the non-Jewish immigrants as cheap and docile manpower in the Israeli army and hopes to offset the alarming rise of the Arab population by substituting one hateful and growing minority with another. As far as that more "manpower in the Israeli army" thing is concerned, check this out: A non-Jewish IDF soldier who immigrated to Israel from Russia was arrested Wednesday and found to belong to a neo-Nazi organization. Police detectives searched the IDF soldier's vehicle after they deemed his behavior suspicious. Heroin was found and he was arrested. During his arrest, the soldier told the police officers that he was a neo-Nazi and hated the State of Israel. The 20-year-old soldier, who serves in a non-combat position, has a swastika tattooed on his left arm. After searching his and his mother's home in the Samaria city of Ariel, police discovered Nazi literature and material on his computer from neo-Nazi groups around the globe. He even showed the officers personal correspondence between himself and neo-Nazi groups. He hates Jews, hates the IDF and considers himself a Nazi, according to a police spokesman. The soldier's mother, who immigrated to Israel with her son four years ago, also professed support for neo-Nazi groups and hatred for Israel. She was also taken into custody for possible connection with neo-Nazi groups. You know, reading about things like that, i am not sure those arabs who want Israel destroyed will really need to do anything anymore but wait; The Israelis seem to be keen on getting the job done for them. And the Irony of it all is this: In a country that was created because of Nazi persecution of the Jews, the Jews are the ones inviting the Nazis over and giving them citizenships. What are they thinking? We live in a messed up messed up world i Tell ya!

Could someone translate the above post?

"You know, reading about things like that, i am not sure those arabs who want Israel destroyed will really need to do anything anymore but wait; The Israelis seem to be keen on getting the job done for them."

I hate to admit this, but you're right. The Israeli government is insane. The other day in the Jerusalem Post I read about the Interior Ministry's attempts to deport a nice Dutch Baptist couple. I feel so powerless. Israel is too ideological for its own good.

I think the problem has something to do with the fact that Israel's leaders are so old. Ariel Sharon is in his seventies and is out of touch. (If you read about the 1948 War, Sharon's name pops up there (in the seige of Latrun). In what other country does a politician have a sixty year career?)

Sigh.

If the Israelis are that stupid then they'll get what they ask for.

To anonymous 11:51 am,
I was looking for the translation, here is the corresponding saying in English: "The mill of the gods grinds slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine".
If other readers have another suggestion let me know, it's just another way of expressing what SM said "i am not sure those arabs who want Israel destroyed will really need to do anything anymore but wait;"

Highlander, i don't think i wrote that sentence with such a malicious tone in mind.

But you are right in one sense, the arabs who do want israel destroyed would carry the same inner sentiment provided in ur post!

Of course I know that you did not intend it to be malicious SM. Though that sentence as you stated does represent the summum of the post i.e. if they [bad-wishing Arabs] only wait long enough.

However, I don't think that 'those who want Israel destroyed' even think or are aware about these intercine self-destructing problems happening in Israel.

On the other hand, Israel is a fact of life; so for those who have not done so, they must move on and make their own peace with that [fact].
