Anybody ever think there's another answer besides WAR? Gandhi...MLK...? Anybody remember them? Ok. I'm in the wrong blog. I'll stop now.

Fro Breanda let me quote Regan," A communist reads Lenin and Marx, an anti communist understands Marx and Lenin." Think about it!

What do you think Hitler would have done with Ghandi and Maryin Luther King, Brenda?

I'm just asking here... I'm really curious if you think a non-violent peace movement would have stopped the Nazis.

Brenda, MLK? Please! MLK had the opportunity to demonstrate peacefully and to speak aloud in the public square because he was IN THE USA. Do you think that if Hitler had conquered the USA that he would have LET MLK live???? MLK, a black man? Come on. Wars were fought so that MLK COULD demonstrate peacefully. That allowed him to speak without fear of his own government.

Anon - yes, MLK was murdered, but not because he was a peaceful man. No, MLK had it right. He had it right because he was speaking freely and peacefully in a society where he was ALLOWED to do so. He was not murdered because he was peace-loving. To the contrary, he may have been killed much quicker had he been violent (the police would have had every right and responsibility to subdue him). Instead, thank God, MLK preached in the USA -- and the person who killed him was full of hate, that's the only reason he was killed. So don't blame MLK in anyway for his own death.

But Brenda, would you have wanted the police to know MLK was about to be shot? Would you have liked to see a police sharp-shooter take out the killer before he could fire that fatal shot? Then MLK could have lived, and the gov't would have protected him. If you wish that could have been done, then you're not really anti-war, Brenda.

Sorry to addendum above. It's been my experience that anti-war is rarely truly anti-war. In reality, it is just very SELECTIVE WAR. And sometimes the selectivity just boils down to their own personal preferences or contempts.
