Beth has an excellent post on Religion vs. Art that is sure to make you think, no matter what religion you subscribe to! Check it out and tell me what you think.

Well, I've already told you once, but I'll tell you again.

Religion is responsible for most of the wars and most of the killing since time was recorded.

It always has been that way and it always will be.

Well Papa Ray, when you think about it, saying "religion is responsible" is like saying a gun is responsible. PEOPLE are the problem. Whatever TOOL they use to do harm is irrelevant. If it's not one tool, it's another. It's religion one day, money another, power another. WE are the problem. Religion is not the answer, but GOD is the answer, because nobody is getting off this world alive, and as long as we're here and in this condition we will keep on keeping on screwing up everything that we come in contact with.

Addendum to above... the desire for power (1st) and wealth (2nd) are the REAL motives behind the destruction man inflicts upon his own kind. Man has simply used religion as an excuse and disguise to cover up their real goals.

the point of that post to me had nothing to do with god or religion, but rather the different religious people's response to what is suppsoed to be testing the limits of free speech. Muslims have ways to go me thinks. u know?

Yeah, I understand that... I was mostly just responding to Papa Ray.

FYI, I miss you & still love you! My life is a nightmare right now... I'm sorry!!

I do believe that there is a total lack of respect for religious belief among many in the Arts but there you don't here about fatwas coming from the Christian churches. They will voice their opinions and ask, once again, not to be exploited by those who are looking for a shock factor or just hate religion.

By threatening or killing the religion itself is denigrated. The sooner people realise this the better.
