Oh Boy...

In an apparent attempt to help the Democrats block Roberts Supreme Court nomination (just in case the "Katrina Tactic" fails), John Tierney has written a column of questions that the democratic senators should ask Roberts to "shake him up". Here is a sample: If Roe v. Wade were a tree, what kind of tree would it be? Suppose you'd been in Solomon's place when he proposed cutting the baby in two. And suppose neither woman objected. Would you have cut the baby? Flipped a coin? Or opted for foster care? During the announcement of your nomination at the White House, your son distracted the president with an impromptu dance. When you got home that night, what happened to him? If Judge Judy isn't afraid of television cameras in her courtroom, why is the Supreme Court so chicken? Ashley or Mary-Kate? And my absolute favorite: In your best judgment, did Brad and Jen really just grow apart, or was it Angelina's fault? You know where I stand on that one: Go Team JOLIE!

See if YOU can find the Right to Privacy:

See if YOU can find equal rights for women:
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The whole reason why this confirmation hearing is such a big deal is because one Robert Bork thought (and still thinks) that there is no such thing as a right to privacy, and that the "privileges and immunities" of citizenship were extended only to black men, and should not be applied to women. He was nominated to the Supreme Court, and not confirmed. Ever since then, Supreme Court nomination hearings have been tense.

I found this quite humorous. Personally, I think we could do much worse then Roberts. I predict that he will wind up as chief justice.

In ur profile it says ur a feminist. If you think we could do worse than Roberts then u are the dumbest feminist i have ever met. Roberts as chief justice = the end of reproductive rights. If you honestly think that we could do much worse than roberts i hope u get pregnant and have to stick a coat hanger in ur twat.

Noone is supposed to know this, but since you asked, The SandMonkey started out his American education at a very young age. He was lost in the desert sands and was picked up by a wandering monkey that has escaped from a circus. The monkey carried him on his back for miles until he found an American Missionary that had falled from grace in his church and had become a special ops soldier. After their mission was over, the SO soldier carried the little Sandbaby back to the U.S.
During the soldiers career, him and his little Sandbaby (who had grown into a young SandBoy and then a fine young SandTeenager)traveled not only in the U.S. but in various other parts of the world.

The SandTeenager completed his college education at the age of 16 because he was so smart. He decided to go back to the Desert to try and find his roots and make his first million.

He is there now, still looking, still questing, still striving to find his place in the world (and he is working on his second million now.

He gave up on the first million.

Nicole, can you back up your statement about Roberts in any way, or is this just your paranoia working overtime?

Wow, the dems really hate Roberts. Bush out to send up a real hard ass for the other vacancy. How much nastier can they be? And then nicole can see first hand how much worse things could be :p

Actually, I wouldn't want to see that myself, but there would be some justice in leftists finding out just how extreme some people on the right can be. Bush just can't do anything right, can he? Why does he even try?

Nicole, if the only way you can make your point is by being as nasty and rude as possible I think you will have a tough time finding an audience. I am a feminist. However I have yet to see any evidence that Roberts will attempt to or hopes to overturn Roe vs. Wade. When someone shows me proof of this THEN I will be worried and upset. But when it comes down to it, the American people don't really have any say in who is put on the court anyway. Is Roberts conservative? Yes, but that doesn't mean he thinks all women should be in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant. Instead of speaking so uneloquently, show me why I should be worried. Back it up with fact. That is what will convince me, not your childish insults.
