Cancel the arabic simpsons

On the second day of ramadan i watched the arabic version of the brilliant show "The Simpsons", which is now called "Al Shamshoon" (which is stupid, cause Shamshoon is the arabic name for Samson, but whatever), and was immedietly depressed. The show dubbing in arabic sucks, because the writers have failed to emulate the double- layerd dialopgue that makes the simpsons such a good show. The simpsons appeal has always been its ability to pose both as a silly cartoon and a serioulsy witty socio-political commentary. The arabic dubbed version failed to grasp or understand the second aspect of the show, so they stuck to the first, which is the silly cartoon aspect, and even failed miserably at that. They managed to make one of the funniest shows ever into something that is terribly unfunny, and one of the smartest shows around into something incredibly dumb. While Homer Simpson was the archetypical model for the lowest common denominator man, the guy who wants to do nothing but eat, drink beer at home or at Moe's Tavern, watch TV in his underwear while scratching himself and making morally ambigious choices, Omar Shamshoon is just stupid , and you can't even blame his laziness on his beer drinking, because Omar is a muslim, so he drinks soda instead of beer. Yeah. Sucky. Cancel the arabic simpsons MBC. Please. Us Simpson lovers can't take this abomination any longer.
