NZ school bans hugging

This is just stupid: Students at a New Zealand school have been up in arms over a ban on "inappropriate" hugging. Fergusson Intermediate school in Upper Hutt, near Wellington, threatened to dish out detentions if students were caught hugging each other, a move many felt was heavy-handed. But principal Paul Patterson denied a hugging ban was in place. The school was just trying to encourage appropriate behaviour. He said the issue unfolded several weeks ago when a group of female students got carried away hugging each other inappropriately before classes. "It was just kids being silly. Just kids going a bit overboard and being stupid. Huggyhuggy, kissy-kissy stuff," Patterson said. Is it just me or is someone in dire need of a hug?
