The Syrians are surprised

They can't believe the view that the world is having of their country. They are glad there are no sanctions though.

They can't imagine the UN could possibly be discussing their country in a harsh way. They believe that the UN Security Council must be confused and think its name is Israel or something, the only 'criminal' state in the Middle East.

Syria is rejecting the UN resolution. So what are they going to do now? go against the world or are they going to make the same mistake they did, by thinking they will have their way or the highway?

Guess they over looked that part about "further action". They might want to tread carefully. It isn't over yet this is just the first step.
