Take a good look people. This is the person you Idolize. Enjoy.

If the Holocaust didnt happen, then WW2 might aswell never took place!
Over 50 Million humans perished in that war. Over 22 Million Soviets died in it , 3 million of which died in nazi POW camps as the germans didnt expect such numbers to surrender & couldnt feed the whole lot. Why do people ignore records & papers from Nazis that spoke about numbers ordered to be detained & moved to camps & later executed. Those jews that were killed had nothing to do with palestine or zionism for starters.
Not ackowledging their suffering is an ugly prejudiced act & unfair aswell.

Where in that article did you get that the Holocaust didn't happen? It seems that Chomsky just believes the massacre in Bosnia was probably overstated - which maybe it was. He's Jewish - why on earth would he say the Holocaust didn't happen?

When someone mentions Chomsky as someone they listen to I tend to make a mental note of "idiot" next to their name and tune them out as irrevelant. What a silly silly man he is and it is scarey that people who think of themselves as smart fall for his drivel.

It`s Srebrenica, not Sebrenica :) but maybe it was lapsus...never mind-but it happened alright...I˙m originally from Bosnia

& what happened in Bosnia is in a way different than what happened to jews in ww2.
Massacres in Bosnia were part of an ethnic civil war & they werent to exterminate a race entirely.
Those srbrenica massacres were awful like any massacre but i dont see it the way muslims do that it was to drive muslims out of europe. There is alot of animosity in those Bulkan countries & amongst ethnicities there.

the holocaust was awful. srebinica was awful. chomsky is a scumbag who will use any petty excuse to blame the world's problem's on US "imperialism".

in chomsky's book, it's only murder and evil if the "colonialist" american powers do it.

My lastest favorite Chomsky quote:

"...there remain suspicions over how he has managed to become an expert, seemingly, on every conflict since the second world war; it is assumed by his critics that he plugs the gaps in his knowledge with ideology.

Chomsky says..."the best scientists aren't the ones who know the most data; they're the ones who know what they're looking for."

Note that he has accepted that the criticism is true, but he has spun it as PREFERABLE! You don't need data if you have an ideological agenda. What a great way to spin your faults! I think he may well BE the smartest man on Earth!

Maybe he could give me some tips for my next interview! :D

I admit, I like Chomsky (although less so than I used to). I own all his DVD's and I enjoy his debates.

Few things.

1. Chomsky NEVER downplayed the holocaust. He does however defend the right for holocaust denial scumbags to spread their hate mongering because of his allegance to free speech. As an anarchist, he does not trust the state to dictate history. I have very mixed feelings about this, but if I had to choose I believe holocaust denying should be a criminal offense.

2. Chomsky's social anarchist system of economics is insane. Its hard to believe he advacates a system that has failed so many times. (even Israeli's Kibutzeem are now just one-company-towns)

3. He really isn't such a bad guy! In his own words, he always bets on the underdog. Unfortinately for Chomsky, sometimes the underdog is not as innocent as he would like.

Chomsky is a complicated man who is interesting to listen to especially if you disagree with him!

"Those jews that were killed had nothing to do with palestine or zionism for starters."____I suggest you check out the career of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. He and his brother were closely involved in the Holocaust, as a way to counter Zionism.

what the hell has that stupid palestinian mufti have to do with jews killed in the holocaust???
He sided with germany thinking that it will win the war & rid him of their problems, regardless if it the means were directly against the religion he was adherent to but it sure gives an indication of how far palestinians are willing to go in pursuit of their hatred!
Again, how many jews killed in the holocaust were associated with zionism? & if some were, it is still no excuse to be treated the way they got treated.

Chomsky is a hypocritical idiot! To know what he proclaims in his books and then to know that he has quite a stock porfolio. Same with Michael Moore. The world would be a much better place without the two of them.

PS- now that I know who likes him, I know which posts to skip.

I was not so sure of Chomsky, but to see the fact, that arguments against him are simple lies ("your Hero doesn't only deny that the Holocaust happend"), I have to think that Chomsky can't be so bad.

It is not a lie that Chomsky denies the Holocaust. I saw him in an interview on TV say it with my own eyes. Anyone who listens to this old fool is not only a feable brainwashed lefty but stupid to boot! Some people only want to believe what their ideology tells them is true. NEWS FLASH, there is only one truth, there aren't "versions of the truth" as Chomsky fans like to say. Anti Christ comes to mind when I hear this senile old fools name.

The Mufti didn't just 'side' with Germany but actively involved. He was invited by Hitler himself to Germany and even trained Muslim Serbs to fight for Herr Hitler!

Concerning this blog, how do you manage to function in Egyption society? You must feel so out of place.

Chomsky is the equivalent of the vacuous liberal intelligentsia of the 1930s, too busy railing against the evil Tories to notice Hitler or Stalin. And like then, when the real bombs start falling, their worldview evaporates

Please post some sources for that. It happens to all of us, that we mistake something we heard or read. When one gets back to it, one notice sometimes that it did not exactly say what one thought at first. No serious discussion without proper sources!

Sorry this was an interview years ago and there is no online source. I did not mistake what I heard him say. The interviewer asked several times and he repeated his claim several times. The man is nuts as are all of his opinions.

The Gaurdian retracted this article and admitted that the information in it was false. Plenty of information about the Gaurdian's slander against Chomsky is explained at his site, chomsky.info

the world would be a better place without the Republican party, never mind Noam Chomsky and Michael Moore. The Republicans are the ones fucking up the country with their bullshit legislation and criminal members, not the people who write books.

I love right wingers, they don't have charismatic writers like Chomsky, just bigots like Pat Robertson, Ted Haggard, david Duke, i could go on but Ted Stevens would be dead by the time I was finished.

Thank god i live in Canada, with its socialized health care. We just ignore our Bush impersonating PM.
