Afghanistan has yet another sucessfull election, despite the violence and the threats made by the Taliban. All of you Afghan war critics can kiss my @$$. And mark my words: Iraq will be the next success story!

Hard to tell what will happen to Iraq, but the Kurds & the shiites seem to be learning something.
As for poor Afghans, ihope they can start something soon, they are so way behind in everything & with the ghost of Taliban haunting them every now & then, i just hope they can get past this crazy period.
& for doona, what war in afghanistan? i dont see any war there, you dont call simple operations war & at least they are freed from the retarded talibans.
& the same applies for iraq, there is no war there, unless the sunnis start it or the shiites amongst themselves, its the insurgents who are killing iraqis everyday, where were they when saddam was in power? why didnt they feel sorry for the people under his ruthless dictatorship? i guess yankee hatred is more intense than their compassion with their brethren!
The prior Anonymous is absolutely right. The war was over in both places along time ago all that it is now is reconstruction and peace keeping ops. If you know your history then you would know that Germany after WWII wasn't given control of it's government back sometime in the early 50's and that our soilders were being killed for about 6 years after the surrender by those who wanted the old government back and Nazi sympathizers,Japan was much the same. If you are against rebuilding both countries and their people then calling for our troops to come home now is the way to go!
SM I agree! Every war in history had it's objectors. Those names from each have long since been forgotten just like the ones today will go to the great trash heap of history. Any chance we can trade Egypt for you if we send 2 of our liberals?;)

The fact that there aren't government operated rape rooms in Iraq means it's already a success. The question now is how *much* of a success it will end up becoming.
