Mother Sheehan is nuts

For anyone who ever doubted that Cindy Sheehan is batshit crazy, well, her latest article- on Michael Moore's website nonetheless- is for you: The vast majority of people who were looting in New Orleans were doing so to feed their families or to get resources to get their families out of there. If I had a store with an inventory of insured belongings, and a tragedy happened, I would fling my doors open and tell everyone to take what they need: it is only stuff. When our fellow citizens are told to "shoot to kill" other fellow citizens because they want to stay alive, that is military and governmental fascism gone out of control. What I saw today in Algiers lifted up my spirits, but what I also saw today in Algiers frightened me terribly. So, we shouldn't shoot people who try to rob us because they may be doing it to stay alive? That's being facist? Facist? Enforcing the law is facist? In what world does...nevermind... that's not even the best part. This is: I don't care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I don't care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I don't care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The occupied New Orleans. Jesus!

Sam,

I saw on T.V. mothers who are going to drug stores to get formula and diapers for their children. That is not stealing! this is feeding their hungry little ones to LIVE.

Where were the police for 5 days when the people were hungry, hot and doesn't have their medication!

The ones that were stealing T.V.'s yes I understand but a lot of people were betrayed by their Gov. there was no help for old people, mothers and children.

Shooting people who are getting food out of stores is murder! how many days does it take a child with no food or water to die?

Bush, the Governer should go NOW.

The Gov was the one with the "shoot to kill" order (correct me if I'm wrong), but she doesn't have authority over the active duty troops, anyway.

That was a stupid remark on her part for many reasons.

If my children were starving, I would have done anything to feed them...then again, I would have gotten out. If I, by chance, did not, I would have had supplies ready...not that children should suffer because their parents are dumbasses.

At the same time, those who were just looting food and diapers were few and far between--most of the looters were thieves taking advantage of a bad situation...and making things more dangerous for the limited number of decent citizens who stuck around.

Now, are you saying that Bush AND the Gov. should go or are you telling Bush that the Gov. should go?

It was not just baby formula and diapers being LOOTED. The Walmart in New Orleans and other places was ENTIRELY cleaned out. Electronics. Jewelry. Ev-er-y-thing. And not just the Walmart either. I think women with their arms full of BEAUTY SUPPLIES as they exited a store should quite rightfully have been shot. People weren't just breaking in to grocery stores. They were stealing televisions too. There wasn't even any electricity and they were stealing T.V.'s

I loved the part of the letter where Mother Superior Sheehan says that New Orleans is occupied terrority too and that the troops should vacate and leave the town to the criminals. How similar that is to her stance on Iraq.

Under American law, the only people who can fire (impeach) Governor Blanco are the people who elected her, citizens of the state of Louisiana. The President doesn't have the authority to do that. America is set up like we are in essence 50 small countries under one federal government.

GEEZ, isn't Ms Sh!theads 15 minutes of fame up yet?

Man, why do us lefties choose the most insane people to represent us!

I sympathize with Sheehan, but I am not upset that Saddam was captured. Saddam was a man who forced parents to watch and cheer as their sons or daughters were publicly tortured do death... he had to go.

But what I will never forgive the Bush administration is their deception, arrogance, and incompetence (Bin Laden first, Iran second, then Iraq)

Why did we lie? Why couldn't we just make our case against Fascist dictators using the truth instead of relying on fear and patriotism.

The right just doesn't get it. We (silently) need our right to take out their right but we expect honesty at all times. Its not the war, its the lies.

As for Sheehan, she says some crazy stuff but at this point, she is in too deep. She cannot go back.

Jordan, because the left is insane and believe stupid stuff like it was all a lie. It wasn't a lie, every intelligence agency in the world told the US that Saddam had WMD. Incase you didn't read the whole report (lots of precurser chemicals found), they do mention the semi trucks that traveled frequently between Iraq and Lebanon. Seeing that just last year they found complete German fighter planes buried under the airport in Berlin ( found during remodeling) I don't think the whole story has been wrote yet.

The left has been wrong about everything maybe someday they will grow up? Until then let the adults run the show.
