Just to end this once and for all

One last time: The US won't invade Venezeula. It wouldn't make sense for it to do so. They might assassinate the crazy bastard that is Chavez, but no Invasion will take place.

An assassination is an invasion, even if the invading army is only two people.

Nah, I don't agree, Don... but the US is not going to assassinate this guy either.

He's crazy stupid. If he got popped, he might be replaced by a more competent asshole, you know?

After the mess we created trying to prop up Columbia, which by the way, is finally starting to work after these many years, I don't think we want to ask for any more problems right now.

We still have Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordon....the list goes on and on, to worry about.

Castro can have them.

I have this crazy idea that this guy is going to get deposed in the next few years anyway. What he can't control is all the information going in and out of his country, yet. the internet is not regulated and many news organizations still tend to be "free press" down there.

However, I believe that the sad state of oil prices will unfortunately keep this assholes coffers too well stocked so that he can continue his pyramid scheme sucking in money, giving it to cronies and doing "pretend" social services while never really creating an economy.

Eventually, something will happen that will crash the oil market or he'll support one too many programs or payoffs and the place will be bankrupt since it's a fact that one product economies can't survive. Even if you count Venezuelan agriculture as a second "product" agriculture is not something you want to hitch your economic life on.

Unfortunately, I think we have a few years of luny toon running the place. But you know what the Castro South American Love fest reminds me of is that movie "red dawn" with Patrick Swayze, where the communist attack comes from Cuban and other "latin communist" countries with Russian support.

anyway, chavez will be around a little while until his country collapses and then it will be clear cut matter of him enforcing his "presidency for life" with his own military.
