Minority? I think that women are in the majority in the US. (I think that is true of most contries. Boys have higher mortality as infants and--especially--women have greater life expectancy generally. Only in backward countries does the hazards of childbirth reduce the number of women to the point that males are more numerous.)
Personally, I've never understood why we are considered a minority since we outnumber men? makes no sense to me?
