Iran's president pisses off arabs this time

So, Saudi decided to host the islamic conference in order to fight islamist extremism. There is a joke in there somewhere, but I am not enough of an infidel to make. Anyway, here is what they have to say and what they are proposing to do: "The Islamic nation is in a crisis. This crisis does not reflect on the present alone, but also on its future and the future of humanity at large," said the final statement of the gathering. "We need decisive action to fight deviant ideas because they are the justification of terrorism." In the declaration, the countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference promised to "change national laws to criminalize financing and incitement" as well as purge extremist ideas from school curriculums. It also underlined that "fatwas" — or Islamic religious edicts — must only be issued by "those who are authorized," an effort to rein in edicts by clerics who denounce other Muslims and allow their killing. "It is now up to every Muslim government to implement the measures, God willing," Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said at a news conference. Good stuff. I am not opposed to any of it. And even if it ends up being a hollow PR stunt, it;s a good hollow PR stunt, you know? Arabs and muslims need to work on their PR skills you know? Why? Cause we always have idiots who say really stupid shit, like what the President of Iran just said the other day when he denied that the Holocaust ever happend and wanted Israel to be moved to Europe. David Duke must really love this guy. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad implied that European countries backed the founding of Israel in the Middle East in 1948 out of guilt over the Nazi genocide. "Some European countries insist on saying that during World War II, Hitler burned millions of Jews and put them in concentration camps," Ahmadinejad said. "Any historian, commentator or scientist who doubts that is taken to prison or gets condemned." "Let's assume what the Europeans say is true ... Let's give some land to the Zionists in Europe or in Germany or Austria," he said. "They faced injustice in Europe, so why do the repercussions fall on the Palestinians?" And now even the saudis are mad at him. How much of an extremist do you have to be that even the saudis would say "Nahh, dude, that's messed up!" to you? Privately, Saudi officials were furious Friday. Three senior Saudi officials who spoke to The Associated Press complained that the comments completely contradicted and diverted attention from the message of tolerance the summit was trying to project. They spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the kingdom's often stormy ties with Tehran. Saudi newspapers ran excerpts of Ahmadinejad's news conference where he praised the summit — but dropped the references to Israel. The comments also did not appear in Iranian newspapers, though the state news agency reported them at the time. One Saudi official, visibly angry, compared Ahmadinejad to Saddam Hussein and Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, whose renegade statements frequently infuriated other Arab leaders. "The Iranian president seems to have lost his direction," said Gilan al-Ghamidi, a prominent commentator in Saudi media. "Iran should be logical if it wants to receive the support of the world. The president didn't score any points. He lost points." Oh, someone is in trouble now! Not talking Ahmeddinjad here. I am talking about every other arab leader who nurtured extremism and racism against Israel and the US to divert attention from his rule, and now is facing the prospect of having a dude in power who repeats that message and making the lot of them look like a bunch of sissies for not backing him up. Iran is starting to look more and more everyday like that monster in the closet to everybody involved. Well, except Syria. Syria likes this guy. He is taking the heat off of them for the moment.

As the Saidi royal family has no interest in religion other than using it to justify their continued rule, they will naturally not be too keen on anyone who actually believes all that stuff. Ahmadinejad seems to be an honest and sincere man, who honestly and sincerely believes that Americans and Jews are evil and should be nuked as soon as possible.

Forget David Duke, how about George "we love the jews, hate the zionists" Galloway! He must have had to change his pants!

I wonder if Galloway knows the only countries he likes (Iraq, Soviet Union, Syria) are ones where people risk their lives to escape. (Just once, I want to see some Americans build a boat out of a '57 Chevy and flee to Cuba)

As a jew, i must say Ahmadinejad is a gift from g-d! Its so hard proving to the world that the evil zionists empire (israel) is NOT being paranoid and that the Islamic world really are not terribly fond of us.

But thanx to Ahmadinejad's refusal to take his medication, he is saying what he is thinking! (never a good idea)

As for his nuclear threat. We all know he is evil enough to do it, the question is if he is suicidal enough. (thank g-d the communists didn't get rewarded with 72 virgins or i would not be here to make this overtly offensive reply)

In a serious note, it actually is a great sign that Saudi Arabia is finally starting to admit it has a problem.

It would have been an even BETTER sign if at the conference, Saudi said "ok, no more LEGALLY marrying 12-year-old virgins"... but one step at a time :)
