You and Big Pharaoh are doing a huge service to combat stupidity. This is why I visit your two blogs so often. I love reading the rants, because believe it or not, it helps alleviate some of the insanity I feel after witnessing one act of stupidity after another.

Sandmonkey says that all the loudmouthed Arabs happily criticizing the US would love to get a green card to go there. That is probably correct. But they can't get one! They have to stay where they are. And what do you do, if you're stuck with unemployment, ignorance and poverty. Of course it does not help to boycott Danish goods or feel hurt on behalf of the Prophet.
How do you modernize ME countries? It doesn't do just to hit people on the head with a copy of Jyllandsposten.

I have a question about this sentence.

Registered with whom? Or what? Does someone online maintain a directory of Egyptian blogs, like some folks do for Iraqi ones? Or does the Egyptian government require you to register your blog? If so, are they able to they enforce it against carefully anonymous bloggers?

Honestly, I m ashamed of the craven attitudes of our govmint; we fought very hard for women's rights in the UK and they seem to be being swept away in a tide of PC kowtowing to "political correctness". What the hell was Claire Short (a womam whose conmitment I have admired, though ofren disagreed with) thinking of? Lobbying for Hiz But Tahrir? (SP?)
What's even sadder is that I have to post anonymously - I, and most people I discuss things with, think the same way on these issues. Sadly. the establishment and even the other local politicians are determined to be dhimmis.
