Mona El Tahawy gets it right!

Mona El Tahawy says what I've been saying all along: In this fight against terrorism, we are all in this together! There is no more “us” and “them” It is all “we”. When London, Beirut and Sharm el-Sheikh are all attacked in less than 48 hours, there is no more Muslim or Christian or Jew. There is no more believer or infidel. There is no more East or West When the dead in Sharm el-Sheikh included Britons, Dutch, Egyptians, French, Kuwaitis, Spaniards, and Qataris, it is all we and we are all in this together. Damn straight!

Amen, brother. Time to bind together the wounds, put on the fighting face and find these scumbags.

Alright then. Big Group Hug. We're all in this together.
Then can we pass out the weapons
and shoot the terrorists?

So true. But wasn't that also true about 9/11, the Bali nightclub, the train bombs in Madrid, the London subway. We are a global village and every one of these bombs most assuredly has killed people from many nations.

Sandmonkey, you and the other young Egyptians started something that cannot be allowed to stop. Your generation is the first that is truly universalist. Show us old folks what you can do!!!

According to a recent poll of *British* Muslims, 6% feel that the attacks in London on July 7 were justified!

Too right! They are trying to destroy our civilization, all who wish to live in peace and harmony are their enemies. There is no where that can be viewed as neutral in this struggle. You either believe in freedom and are willing to fight for it or you must be prepared to loose all you hold dear.
Unfortunately Jane Fonda still hasn't worked it out. Fonda the enemy of freedom.

Unfortunately, I think it will always remain 'us' and 'them'. What you are talking about or think happening, is 'We' giving away our 'We-ness' to become 'them'.

Considering Both sides have said that 'You are with us or against us', logically there is no middle ground. Those that refuse to pick a side will be targeted by BOTH sides. Some, will do just that of course. Maybe Darwin was on to something, since that will remove a considerable number of reallllly stooopid people from the gene pool.

Haal is absolutely correct.
And yes, you can pick a side, and be *you*, and still not threaten or be threatened by *them*

What's so difficult about that?
