Must... not....strangle....

The Fatwa-issuing clerics with Porn-movies mentality strike again: India's leading female tennis player has been subjected to a fatwa by a Muslim cleric for wearing short skirts and revealing tops on the international tennis circuit. Sania Mirza, 18, who became the first Indian woman to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam at the US Open last week, is hugely popular in India. The fatwa - in effect, a demand that she cover up - was issued by a senior cleric of the Sunni Ulema Board, a little-known group. Similar fatwas have been issued against Mirza, who comes from a devout Muslim family, but none has ever gained popular support among India's 130 million Muslims. "The dress she wears on the tennis courts…leaves nothing to the imagination," Haseeb-ul-hasan Siddiqui told The Hindustan Times. "She will undoubtedly be a corrupting influence." He said she should follow the example of Iranian women who wore long tunics and headscarves to play in the Asian Badminton Championships. So he is watching her play tennis and he is thinking about her body instead of her game, and she is the one who is doing something wrong?????? Rising blood pressure...Splitting headache... Need an advil. NOW!

funny how they are all the same. Women are a bad influence for playing sports as they seduce men by wearing hot shorts. hasnt that guy heard of the verse that calls to lower your eyes & not stare at women? i guess he hadnt as he was busy doing something else!!

"Contrary to what is believed by many non-Muslims, and even by the majority of Muslims, a fatwa is not binding on all persons professing the Muslim faith. The only ones who are obliged to obey any specific fatwa are the mufti who issued it and his followers."

Well, he's overstepping his self a little, according to this website.

Yea, it is stupid anyway.

Yes maybe she should rug up and then go play a match of tennis. These twits will be so much happier when she collapses from heatstroke. Plus I can't see it helping her mobility much.

By the way she is a beauty! But I still fail to she why she should hide it. Would it be alright if she was ugly and hairy?
