An Open Policy

In order to meet their recruitment targets, the US Army is lowering the bar and letting more people in who scored on the lower side on their apptitude tests. Not very wise army people. Not very wise.

The US military is more selective about the candidates it accepts than in decades past. Joining the army is no longer the slam dunk it once was for kids with no alternative. The military has some room to move down the scale.

Hmmm.... how do you explain Abu Ghraib's "Peppermint Patty" then, Skydog? Or any of those Abu Ghraib folks, for that matter? If Grainer has an IQ over 85, I'll eat my shorts.

However, I'm not going to run down the Army here... we have high standards in our military, the highest in the world. Those standards should be maintained.
