Well, most sexually active people who have had more than one partner have HPV. Between 50-80% to be exact. There are more than 80 strains of it and they are very tissue specific. There are 3 I believe that cause the cancers. They are the ones now tested for in a pap smear. That most people with oral cancer have the virus doesn't suprise me because most people have it anyways. New medical research indicates people typically flush a strain from their bodies within 3-5 years. Incidentally, condoms offer minimal protection as it is a skin-to-skin transmitting virus unless you are wearing a full body condom. :) Also, the virus rarely manifests visibly on either sex, but more women than men will ever show physical symptoms.
