Buh-bye Venezuela

It's pretty much set in stone that Chavez is not going away anytime soon, thanks to the opposition parties that withdrew from the congressional elections. This clears the way for Chavez supporters to take over the congress and continue turning Venezuela into a mini-cuba with Hugo becoming president for life, and our boy claims he is upset over it and naturally blames the US. Chavez accused President Bush late Thursday of being behind the withdrawal of Venezuela's major opposition parties from Sunday's congressional elections, saying he had proof the CIA was "encouraging this new conspiracy." He provided no details. Duhh..... I love the US' response though.... "The decisions made by the political parties were their decisions alone," U.S. Embassy spokesman Brian Penn said. "We are simply not responsible for everything that goes on in Venezuela." LOL

Sandmonkey, you missed the most telling part in the article.

"Mr. Bush, I'm going to make another bet with you. I've bet you a dollar to see who lasts longer — you in the White House or me here in Miraflores (palace)," Chavez said Thursday.

First, his statement is overflowing with his personal ego. He fancies himself as the ruler of Venezuela.

Second, he doesn't have a grasp of how leaders come and go in a democracy.

They sometimes come and go in a dictatorship, too, especially in Latin America! This Chavez guy reminds me of a certain pineapple faced dude whose name I seem to have forgotten... last I heard he was in a US federal prison in Florida? I think...

Then again, we could always sick Pat Robertson on him again... don't make us chastise you, Chavez!

This guy seriously needs to boost his meds... Chavez is clinically paranoid!

Man I hope he gets kicked right in the balls.

Well of course, DUH! America elects a President every 4 yrs (2 terms allowed) Dictatorships tend to last much longer than 8 yrs, don't you think?
