Ban Don Quixote

One of my readers, Paul, answerd my question on which Book the world muslim population should ban next. The answer was, incredibly, Don Quixote. Why? Well, here is his e-mail: In Chapter V we read: "...he thought himself of having recourse to his usual remedy, which was to think of some passage in his books, and his craze brought to his mind that about Baldwin and the Marquis of Mantua, when Carloto left him wounded on the mountain side, a story known by heart by the children, not forgotten by the young men, and lauded and even believed by the old folk; and for all that not a whit truer than the miracles of Mahomet."

And in Chapter XVII "They are at enmity," replied Don Quixote, "because this Alifanfaron is a furious pagan and is in love with the daughter of Pentapolin, who is a very beautiful and moreover gracious lady, and a Christian, and her father is unwilling to bestow her upon the pagan king unless he first abandons the religion of his false prophet Mahomet, and adopts his own." Perhaps more objectionable might be Cervantes' racial slurs, e.g. Chapter 9: "If against the present one any objection be raised on the score of its truth, it can only be that its author was an Arab, as lying is a very common propensity with those of that nation" Nice! BAN DON QUIXOTE!
