Egypt's top envoy to Iraq Kidnapped!

That's just fan-freakin-tastic: Egypt's top envoy to post-Saddam Hussein's Iraq has been kidnapped in Baghdad just weeks after arriving in the war-torn country, Egyptian diplomats said Sunday. Two diplomats, speaking in Cairo and Baghdad on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said Ihab al-Sherif was kidnapped late Saturday in the Iraqi capital. Al-Sherif had arrived in Baghdad on June 1. In mid-June, the Egyptian government said it would upgrade relations with Iraq to full embassy status headed by an ambassador, but it was not immediately clear if al-Sherif currently held that title. The diplomats gave no immediate details on the kidnapping. Al-Sherif is the second Egyptian diplomat to have been kidnapped in Iraq. To all you freakin Iraqi Insurgants (Terrorists) supporters in Egypt: Allright! I hope you are Happy NOW! Maybe after they slit his throat you people will see what it is that you support!

Well, Sam, having been involved with Egyptian Security officers back in Sadat's day, I can say that when they want someone, they get them. I'd love to see them going after these assholes. I'd be willing to bet there'll be no Gitmo-whining in Egypt once the kidnappers are brought to ground.

Personal note, Tuesday ,another trip to the Embassy.

These sick kidnappers should day. What ungrateful bastards. After Egyptians are the only people willing to send an ambassador to that country. This is how they repay us? Ridiculous.

There is no way the Egyptian people are going to put up with being humiliated by a bunch of thugs like that.

Put some pressure on Syria, after all Baby Assad has been backing the insurgents.

I saw on a couple Iraqi blogs people saying any government in the ME who works with the Iraqi government deserves to have it's diplomats kidnapped/murderred.

*sigh*
