It was bound to happen

People are rethinking tolerance of muslims, and the sad part is, they may be justified in doing so! sigh....

I totally agree with "blogspat"
All religious people should, lay down the religion vail, at least for a month or two, to look at the world through not-religious colered eyes. I dare them, it has become a pacifier rather than a guideline.

Hi SM,
I'm afraid I have to disagree when you say people MAY BE justified. I'd say we definitely are. With muslims in virtually every country, the opportunities for murder and mayhem can affect us all and can't be ignored. This stupid cartoon business had persuaded millions of people that modern Islam as defined by those in position to do so (Imams, mullahs, teachers, and so-called "Islamic scholars" (an oxymoron if ever there was one) or whatever) is an intolerant, murderous, unreasoning, vindictive, humorless cult. It may have been otherwise in times past, but Islam has been hijacked by the crazies. I wish that muslims with functional brains such as you, BP, and ITM, could turn things around, but only those in charge have that ability, and they don't seem to be the least bit interested. Quite the opposite. If so many muslims get this worked up over a cartoon, what will they do when something significant happens? Isn't it interesting how the rioters yap that god is great, but don't think god has the ability to take out a few cartoonists if he's really offended? Why is it up to a bunch of out-of-control muslims to decide what god wants? Why do they think that god is powerless and needs their miserable help? Senseless.
